Honda is set to unveil two new concept models at the Tokyo Motor Show!

Honda-small-sports-ev-front-detail-angle
Honda is teasing us with two new concept models the company plans on unveiling at the Tokyo Motor Show. The Small Sports EV and ACX plug-ins will make their official debut later this month, with no word on whether they will make it to production.

Japanese automaker Honda is looking to make a big splash at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month. The company is planning to bring a veritable host of concept and production vehicles (more than any other automaker) to the show.

Attendees will get a chance to see a range of concept vehicles the company is considering bringing to production. Part of that group of concept vehicles is a new plug-in hybrid as well as an EV dubbed the ACX.

Details are scarce at the moment, with Honda tight-lipped on any details with the Small Sport EV Concept, while details on the ACX are not much better. We do know Honda is aiming to impress with the ACX plug-in — a vehicle that is well equipped to handle bustling urban environments, while at the same time offering a true open road experience. The company says the ACX will come with a two-mode drive system with an engine mode for that added push in power and performance, and an automatic drive mode for standard driving.

Again, no word on pricing or if these two concepts will make it to production, but we imagine more information will follow once they are unveiled in Tokyo.

Honda prices 2012 Ridgeline Sport from $29,995*

2012-honda-ridgeline-sport-628
We knew Honda's load-lugging curiosity, the Ridgeline pickup, was getting a modest refresh for the 2012 model year, and we even knew there was a new Sport model waiting in the wings. But now we have more details – including pricing.

For 2012, the Ridgeline range starts at $29,250* for the entry-level RT model and zooms all the way to $37,180* for the top-shelf RTL with navigation. The sweet spot, however, might just be the new Sport model shown above. At $29,995* it's only $749 more than the base RT, yet includes such visual niceties as 18-inch alloys (the base RT rolls on 17-inch steelies), blacked-out honeycomb grille and matching light bezels, as well as fog lamps and tinted rear windows. Inside, there's a leather-wrap wheel with audio controls, an aux input on the stereo and floor mats. (*All Ridgeline models are subject to a $810 delivery charge).

Range-wide changes for 2012 include a new front grille and various small aero improvements that help net the genre-straddling pickup a revised fuel economy rating of 15 city and 21 highway, an increase of 1 mpg on the interstate. The rest of the range remains basically unchanged, including the 3.5-liter V6 that offers 250 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque and its trademark in-bed trunk.

Despite consistently slow sales, Honda recently pledged that the Ridgeline still has a future. While we haven't seen or heard anything official out of the Japanese automaker about a successor, it has been rumored that the new-for-2012 CR-V could spawn a light-duty pickup variant at some point down the road.

2011 Honda Accord Coupe V6 Concept goes supercharged

Honda-accord-supercharged
Honda showed off a gaggle of wild concepts for SEMA 2011, but the most interesting of the bunch may very well be a demure 2011 Accord Coupe V6. The two-door has been worked over by the go-fast fiends at Honda Factory Performance and boasts a range of bolt-on goodies that include a HFP suspension and body kit. More importantly, the Accord Coupe V6 Concept is laden with a smattering of prototype engine components. Engineers crafted a prototype supercharger, intake and exhaust systems just for the vehicle, and the end result is a very respectable 335 horsepower 285 pound-feet of torque.

Those figures mark an increase of 64 ponies and 34 lb-ft of twist over the stock 3.5-liter V6, which should do plenty to make the Accord a more interesting piece of metal. Right now, Honda says that the concept was built purely to gauge public interest and determine whether or not Accord Coupe buyers would actually be interested in a hotter version of the vehicle. We say extra horsepower is always a good thing, especially when it comes with a factory warranty.

Fiat 500 Abarth finally lands in the U.S.

Webfiat500abarth-us-1320019799
One of the benefits of the strengthening ties between Fiat and Chrysler is a mutual expansion of their joint product portfolio. The shared leadership of the two auto groups has seen Fiats arrive in North American showrooms and Chryslers proliferating overseas. Which is all well and good, but where's the excitement? Where are the performance models for which the Italian auto industry is so deeply loved? Well, we finally have our answer.

We've been anticipating the launch of the Abarth sub-brand in North America ever since the basic Fiat 500 first arrived – if not longer – and Chrysler has now confirmed its arrival as a fait accompli. When the doors open at the Los Angeles Convention Center at the end of the month for the LA Auto Show, the Chrysler Group will finally unveil the American version of the Fiat 500 Abarth.

Few details have been disclosed as to the U.S.-market Abarth's specifications, but what we do know is that the 500 Abarth arriving on American shores will pack an all-new 1.4-liter MultiAir turbocharged four, kept in check by upgraded brakes, handled by a sportier suspension, controlled by a higher level of technology and conveyed by a more aggressive appearance.

The much-loved European-model Abarth 500 offers up either 130 horsepower or 160, the latter with the Esse-Esse kit. We're hoping for the higher end of that spectrum, of course, but we'll have to wait until the LA show to find out for sure. In the meantime, we'll just have to live with the pair of preview images and the press release – along with written, photographic and video run-downs of the Abarth brand's heritage

Paragon Honda - (5) Star Review on Yelp

  • Just bought a 2005 Honda Pilot in Pristine condition. I dealt  with the salesman Majid Zeeshan and he was by far the best salesman I could have asked for. He literally gives used car salesmen a good name. I would not deal with anyone else. I showed him an Edmunds price guide quote and he cut 3k off the price before I could even ask him to. He was very personal and was not pushy. There was no pressure in this sale and was so confidant in his prices and discounts that he had no problem with us not buying a car. He said go shop around because I know my price will be lower and he was right. Not only were the prices better the cars were in better condition and had fewer miles. He threw in a spare headlight since the old one had a broken seal without me asking. There were no surprise fees and it was very cut and dry. If you want to get ripped off go to another dealership. If you want a great car for a great deal go to Majid. -Eric H.
