Honda has won the first ever Edmunds.com Best Retained Value Award for Non-Luxury Brands. In addition, four Honda models won model-level 2011 Edmunds.com Best Retained Value Awards. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the 2012 Civic Sedan a "2011 Top Safety Pick," based on more stringent standards implemented in 2010. The Civic Sedan received top ratings in each category including frontal offset, side impact and rear impact crash safety tests and the new roof-strength test.
Honda has a long history of environmental leadership, including the introduction of America's first mass-produced hybrid, the [original] Honda Insight, and the first vehicle to meet California's Low-Emission Vehicle standards, 1996 Civic well in advance of regulatory requirements.
