Paragon Honda - (5) Star Review on Yelp

  • BUY YOUR NEW CAR HERE!!!!
In my 40 years of buying new cars, my purchase at Paragon Honda last week was the most pleasurable and positive such experience I have ever had. Great price, knowledge and courteous staff, and no pressure at all. All employees were professionally dressed, the showroom was spotless, and the display of cars was the best - What more can I say! This positive experience is a direct reflection on the outstanding customer service exhibited by the sales manager, Justin H., which was reflected in all his staff. Specifically, Stanley L. in sales, Wendy D. in delivery, Angel P in finance, and Rachel C. were all exceptional. I plan on sending friends and family to Paragon to deal with Justin and his group. -Robert

Honda Earns Multiple Honors in AutoPacific's 2012 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards and Total Car Score's 2012 Top Scoring Car Awards

Honda Earns Multiple Honors in AutoPacific's 2012 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards and Total Car Score's 2012 Top Scoring Car Awards

Honda has captured three of AutoPacific's 2012 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards for the 2012 Honda CR-V, Odyssey and Pilot, and four of Total Car Score's inaugural Top Scoring Car Awards for the 2012 Honda Ridgeline, Fit, Odyssey and CR-V.

"It's fantastic to have so much of Honda's outstanding product line represented in these awards," said Michael Accavitti, vice president of marketing operations for American Honda. "AutoPacific's awards tell us we're creating truly satisfied owners, and the Total Car Score awards demonstrate how widely and well regarded Honda's products are among top authoritative sites."

AutoPacific's 2012 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA) are based on over 75,000 surveys completed by owners of new cars and light trucks in the United States in the first quarter of 2012.The VSAs are based solely on owner input, and are an accurate measurement of how satisfied new car and light truck buyers are with their recently purchased vehicle.

The Top Scoring Car Awards are based on Total Car Score's ranking formula, which utilizes the ratings from trusted automotive sites converted into a simple percentage. These ratings are translated into a single Total Car Score that allows car shoppers to quickly and easily compare cars.

Paragon Honda - (5) Star Review on Yelp

  • These negative reviews are dumb. This is a car dealership, not a spa. They will hassle you, that is what car dealers do.
Yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised! I was looking for a per-owned CR-V and decided to give Paragon a try because it is near a friends house I was seeing later in the day. I was looking at a few and wasn't that impressed, all low mileage and clean but the price I wasn't thrilled on. Even after I said I would pay cash, still no difference in price. Just as I was about to walk away I saw the new 2012 Civic. I was able to test drive it and really fell in love. My sales associate, Raphael, guided me thru it and was more than willing to help out with the price. I ended up walking out with a 2012 Civic EX-L with navigation for a great price. I couldn't be happier. Yes, Paragon is a little pushy but Raphael was a great salesman, no pressure and more than willing to help. I highly recommend this dealer to anyone looking for a Honda. If you are not serious about buying though, yeah, do not give out your personal information. Very good very good, look for Raphael if you are serious. It seems like they are always offering great deals on leases and financing, I didn't do either so I don't fully know. -Gregory

Linkin Park Unveils Customized Honda Civic Si Coupe at House of Blues Fan Club Show and Announces Power The World Pledge

Last Friday before an intimate fan-club only show in Los Angeles, Linkin Park unveiled a Honda Civic Si Coupe and CBR250R Motorcycle they personally customized and autographed to be displayed at every stop on the upcoming Honda Civic Tour.

Following the unveiling, the band asked their supporters and people worldwide to sign a pledge in support of Sustainable Energy For All. The pledge is available for digital signature at powertheworld.org. The goal is to get as many signatures as possible by June 19th, when Music For Relief will deliver it to Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon during the UN Conference on Sustainable Development, better known as Rio+20. For more info, visit uncsd2012.org.

Linkin Park and Music For Relief's 'Power The World' campaign asks fans to use their voice to support Sustainable Energy For All, by signing a pledge to help the 1.3 billion people worldwide who have no access to electricity. Linkin Park launched Power The World to raise awareness and help bring clean energy solutions to the 1 in 5 people worldwide who do not currently have access to energy. One example of the clean energy solutions Power The World will highlight on the upcoming Honda Civic Tour is the Solar Suitcase from non-profit partner WE CARE Solar. The WE CARE Solar Suitcase brings lights, power and hope to health facilities in regions without reliable electricity. It is an economical, easy-to-use portable power unit that provides health workers with highly efficient medical lighting and power to help save lives.

"The 2012 Honda Civic Tour together with Linkin Park and Incubus, will continue the tradition of more environmentally conscious actions to ensure a tour that supports the annual concert series' dedicated environmental action plan. Linkin Park has always worked to make each tour more environmentally friendly than the last," said lead vocalist Mike Shinoda, "which is why we are really pleased to be taking our greening even further with Honda and Incubus this year." On-site concert innovations will encourage fans to be 'greener' as well by promoting simple, environment friendly initiatives, such as recycling, carpooling and reducing their carbon footprint associated with traveling to shows.

Linkin Park's fifth studio album, LIVING THINGS (Machine Shop Recordings / Warner Bros) will be released June 26, 2012.

Honda Announces New UNI-CUB Personal Mobility Device Designed for Harmony with People

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today unveiled the new UNI-CUB personal mobility device, designed for harmony with people. Featuring a compact design and comfortable saddle, UNI-CUB offers the same freedom of movement in all directions that a person enjoys while walking.

Representing the evolution of the U3-X personal mobility device that Honda announced in 2009, UNI-CUB features Honda's proprietary balance control technology and the world's first omni-directional driving wheel system (Honda Omni Traction Drive System). These technologies allow the rider to control speed, move in any direction, turn and stop, all simply by shifting his or her weight. Since the rider can freely move forward, backward, side-to-side and diagonally, he or she can quickly and easily maneuver among other people.

Moreover, UNI-CUB's compact saddle-style packaging makes it easy for the rider's legs to reach the ground and maintains eye-level height with other pedestrians. This configuration promotes harmony between the rider and others, letting the rider travel freely and comfortably inside facilities and among moving people.

Starting in June 2012, Honda will jointly conduct demonstration testing of UNI-CUB with Japan's National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation. In addition to testing the feasibility of using UNI-CUB indoors, this project will explore the practical applications of the device in a wide range of environments in Japan and other countries.

The balance control technology of UNI-CUB is part of the Honda Robotics family of technologies, which originates with Honda's research into humanoid robots, including the world-famous ASIMO.

Going forward, Honda will continue its proactive research and development of next-generation mobility technologies, aiming always to offer more and more people the joy and fun that comes from freedom of movement.

Key features of UNI-CUB:
Maneuverability promotes compatibility with people in many environments:
1. Omni-directional freedom of movement similar to human walking
UNI-CUB has a two-wheel configuration with a minimal wheelbase. The front wheel features the Honda Omni Traction Drive System that Honda first announced in 2009. The rear wheel moves laterally to facilitate turning. By leveraging the different rotational speeds of the front and rear wheel treads during lateral movements, UNI-CUB can move forwards and backwards, side-to-side and diagonally and also turn in place, making possible quick, nimble movement.

2. Movement in harmony with other people
Honda's proprietary balance control technology makes it possible for the rider to freely control the wheels of the UNI-CUB, much as human beings maintain their balance. With a design that takes into consideration the rider's environment, this system allows the rider to maneuver while moving side by side with or holding hands with another person.

3. Compact size for moving and climbing gradients in barrier-free indoor environments
Thanks to UNI-CUB's compact saddle-style packaging, the rider and vehicle together are about the same width as a person when walking. Optimized wheel design and high-precision drive/balance control enhance UNI-CUB's ability to climb gradients in barrier-free indoor environments.

Ease of control promotes freedom of movement:
4. Weight shift control combined with touch panel control
When the rider is using weight shift control, UNI-CUB's incline sensor detects the direction in which the rider is leaning, allowing UNI-CUB to calculate the direction and speed intended by the rider. And touch panel control via smartphone and other devices is another convenient control option.

Paragon Honda - (5) Star Review on Yelp

  • I didn't know whats up with all the negative reviews, but upon reading them it became clear that people went in to buy a car without understanding how to buy a car. You never have to sign anything or feel rushed anywhere. I surely didn't. My salesperson Stanley was very attentive, explained everything to me and I didn't feel pressured into buying the car. The finance rep was awesome too and was very frank about what would work best for me and didn't add extra BS. When reading the rants its very clear that people seem to want something for nothing. So don't buy a car if you didn't research it first and what to expect. That's your fault. -S.S.

2012 Honda Civic Hybrid Delivers on Mileage

Honda_civichybrid2012_waterfront
An average of 43.5 mpg -- that was during a week's test drive of the 2012 Honda Civic hybrid on city streets and highway. Now, that's pretty impressive. And we didn't have to sacrifice ride quality, safety or comfort in the redesigned gas/electric hybrid.

Available in four trims, the front-wheel-drive sedan is equipped with a 1.5-liter (up from the previous 1.3) engine with Integrated Motor Assist that develops 110 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 127 pounds-feet (increase of 4) of torque at 1000 rpm. The inline-four-cylinder engine is mated to an electric motor, which is powered by a lighter 20-kilowatt lithium-ion battery. A seamless Continuously Variable Transmission is standard.

The hybrid offers a regenerative braking system for additional fuel savings. When brakes are applied, the electric power functions as a generator and converts the captured kinetic energy into useable electricity for recharging the battery. Want to eke out further fuel efficiency? Just press the ECON button. Also part of the Eco Assist system is the plant leaf graphics, which track driving habits.

Indeed, Honda has boosted gas mileage on this 2012 version over its predecessor by 4 mpg in city and 1 mpg on the highway. And compared to the conventional Civic sedan, the hybrid sees a 16 mpg and 5 mpg increase in city and highway respectively.

Base-priced at $24,200, the Civic is priced up to $26,900 if you would like leather seats and a navigation system.

With its cheeky styling in and out, smooth but solid ride and frugal fuel consumption, the Civic hybrid is an easy choice. Honda's reputation for durability and reliability only adds to the compact car's value.

Honda Pilot, 2012: Best buy midsize minivan

2012-honda-pilot
The mid-size Honda Pilot hits all the sweet spots when it comes to three-row family minivans—plenty of space, good power, decent handling, comfort and even optional all-wheel drive.

The 2012 Pilot has sleeker front styling, a redesigned instrument panel, upgraded audio systems and more sound-deadening. Never mind the boxy old-school general styling—it allows plenty of room for passengers with the third-row seat in its normal position.

Honda claims the four-door hatchback Pilot seats eight, but six is a more reasonable number, at least for adults. The second-row split seat, which has a center armrest with cupholders, slides fore and aft. But climbing in and out of the third-row seat to add to that number is awkward. And leg room is tight for adults behind the second-row seats.

The high floor causes a high step-in, although occupants have a good view of surroundings once settled.

Cargo room is modest with all seats in place, but the fold-flat second-and third-row seats significantly enlarge it.

There are four trim levels (LX, EX, EX-L and Touring). List prices start at $28,470 for the base front-wheel-drive LX and go to $40,820 for the top-dog Touring model. The LX costs $30,070 with all-wheel drive, an extra $1,600 for all trim levels. That drive system allows decent off-road capability, although the Pilot is no Land Rover.

This Honda has a 3.5-liter 250-horsepower V-6 that provides good 65-80 mph passing and Variable Cylinder Management that lets it shut down certain cylinders to maximize fuel economy. But towing capacity isn’t very good.

Fuel economy is an estimated 18 miles per gallon in the city and 25 on highways with front-drive and 17 and 24 with all-wheel drive. A 21-gallon fuel tank provides a respectable highway driving range.

Economy probably would be a little better if the Pilot had a six-speed automatic transmission instead of a five-speed unit, which seems dated. But the easily reached short shifter juts from the center of the dashboard so it doesn’t take up room.

I tested the full-boat $40,820 Pilot all-wheel-drive Touring. Its wealth of items include a DVD rear entertainment system, navigation system, Bluetooth connection, seat and mirror memory, backup camera and sensors and a power tailgate, which is handy when your arms are full of groceries. The hatch has a strap and indented interior slot to help close it you don’t want to wait for the automatic tailgate operation.

Still the base model has plenty of stuff, including a premium sound system, air conditioning, keyless entry and power windows and mirrors. The EX adds a power driver seat, multizone automatic air conditioning and steering wheel audio controls.

The EX-L adds a sunroof, power front passenger seat, heated leather-covered front seats and the power tailgate.

Safety features include anti-lock brakes with brake assist and strategically placed air bags.

I couldn’t tell when the smooth V-6’s cylinders were cutting out or in during highway cruising. Acceleration was strong off the line and during 65-80 mph passing. The transmission works effectively, and the ride is comfortable, if a bit soft. After all, this is no sports sedan, but a vehicle designed for family passenger comfort.

The variable-assist power rack-and-pinion steering is nicely geared, although a little heavy. Handling is pretty good, assisted by the Pilot’s standard stability and traction control systems, along with front and rear stabilizer bars—not to mention my test vehicle’s all-wheel-drive system. However, you can feel this is a heavy, rather softly sprung 4,300 to 4,600-pound vehicle during quick maneuvers.

The brake pedal has a nice linear action, and stopping distances during normal driving are good. The foot-operated emergency brake, though, seems old-fashioned.

The interior has easily read gauges, but the audio and climate controls are small to medium in size, and there are many similar-looking dashboard buttons. Front seats provide good support.

The front console has two conveniently placed cupholders with a large sliding cover, and the other two seating rows also have cupholders. Rear windows lower all the way so kids don’t spill drinks handed to them by workers at fast-food drive-through lanes.

Large rearview mirrors and my test Pilot’s backup camera helped a lot when maneuvering in tight spaces, but the turning circle for this rather long minivan is just average.

The outside hood-opener latch is easy to find, which isn’t the case with many vehicles. But the hood is held open with a prop rod, instead of more convenient hydraulic struts.

The solid, nicely built Pilot should be on every minivan shopper’s list.

Pros: Ungraded front styling. Roomy. Good punch. Nice ride. Decent Handling. Available all-wheel drive. Acceptable highway fuel economy.

Cons: Fairly high step-up. Hard-to-enter third-row seating. Only a automatic.

Bottom Line: A "best-buy" among minivans.

2012 Honda CR-Z Sport Hybrid Coupe Recognized by USAA as a Best Value

1

USAA, a leading financial services provider to the U.S. military and their families, today named the 2012 Honda CR-Z Sport Hybrid Coupe to its second annual Best Value vehicles list, which identifies the top 2012 automobiles in 16 categories that give consumers the most bang for their buck. In addition, today USAA named the CR-Z to its "Top 10 for Teens List," which focuses on traits parents said they cared about most: reliability, safety and affordable insurance costs.

The Honda CR-Z rose to the top in the coupe category, recognized for offering best-in-class EPA fuel economy ratings, achieving the "Top Safety Pick" designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and offering reasonable maintenance and ownership costs.

Best Value automobiles offer the best financial value of all vehicles USAA evaluates as part of a broader rating system called USAA Preferred, which uses quantitative data to evaluate vehicles' cost, safety and reliability, among other key factors. There are nearly 80 cars, trucks and minivans that are currently designated as USAA Preferred vehicles, and the Best Value list represents the vehicles that rose to the top of each category.

"The CR-Z creates a whole new value category as the first true sport hybrid, offering great fuel economy, a low entry price, an available 6-speed manual transmission and a feisty change of character with the push of the Sport button," said Mike Accavitti, Vice President of National Marketing Operations for American Honda. "It's like having two cars for the price of one."

"The goal of the list is to help members identify vehicles that typically offer better safety ratings, lower insurance premium costs, higher fuel economy, better overall reliability and lower MSRP compared to other vehicles in the same category," said Steve Thompson, an assistant vice president at USAA. "The Honda CR-Z rose to the top as a vehicle that offers these key elements, making it a great buy for the value-minded consumer."

  • while the sales person is giving you what you want, the financing manager doesn't give what you want but this is the part of buying a car that really stinks and take a long time to negotiate. otherwise the experience wasn't a painful one but no one really likes the numbers you hear when you buy a car thinking you'll pay around one number when it's not that at all. -Fizzz
  • I've been going to Paragon for all my Honda repairs for the past 3 years. Each time, the service has been fast and well done. I've never had a problem after any visit. It's easy to schedule an appointment by phone or their website. My only gripe is the cost. I'm sure I could have saved a lot if I used a local garage, but the quality can't be beat. • For the last 3 leases, I have driven a Ford and I wanted to try something new. I stopped into Paragon Honda just to get some info on their stock. I was greeted at the door by Jack. I asked him if Honda have anything bigger than the CRV and smaller than the Pilot. He immediately answered no. I loved his up front candor. He told me I should look at the CRV as it was roomier than I probably thought. I agreed to look at it and after a test drive was convinced that I could love this car. Jack made the whole experience smooth and although it did take a day, I drove off in my new Honda CRV, Jack having taken care of the exchange, insurance, disposal of my old vehicle, etc. The next day, I noticed that the air conditioner was not working properly. I phoned Jack and he instructed me to come in immediately to the service center. I dropped off my car and the service crew apologized profusely for the "factory defect". I had my car the very next day and it's in perfect working order. My whole experience with Paragon Honda was professional and stress free. They are a great group! -Convert

Honda launches all-new CR-V

Honda_natsume
The fourth-generation CR-V features a new body, styled in the vein of its predecessor but made sleeker and sportier. The front offers a better-integrated version of the dipped grille-now featuring three chromed bars as in the current Honda family look. The side has a kinked D-pillar and an impression of a massive rear section. The trademark high-mounted taillights stretch all the way to the roof for better visibility.

That roofline is one inch lower to aid aerodynamic efficiency, as well as to give the crossover a more hunkered-down appearance. Despite the lower roofline, CR-V still offers plenty of headroom, increased passenger volume, and the same ground clearance as the 2011 model. Honda says that this is the largest and most functional interior possible for a vehicle of this size. With greater body rigidity and additional noise insulation, the CR-V promises to a quieter ride than the previous car.

The previous CR-V had hands down the highest-quality interior in its class, and the new car seems to follow that.

Upgrades include an available new multi-information display, a 5-inch LCD that displays the trip computer information and vehicle settings. It also shows the image from the rear-view camera. The top-line CR-V has Bluetooth controls for mobile phone connectivity, allowing the phone to be controlled via steering wheel switches. The 60:40 split rear seats can be folded down using a one-pull lever inside the cargo area, to make for a flat loading bay. The top-line 2.4-liter EX variant gets a sunroof as well.

It wouldn’t be a Honda without advances to the drivetrain, and indeed the CR-V’s new 2.4-liter gets a power and torque boost to 183 hp and 220 Nm, while getting 10 percent better fuel mileage. The 2.4-liter engine comes with all-wheel drive. The CR-V’s AWD system drives the front wheels only by default, and can quickly engage the rear wheels via an electronically controlled multi-clutch system when slipping is predicted.

The 2.0-liter engine delivers 151 hp and 190 Nm. Both engines have Honda’s trademark iVTEC variable valve timing system: DOHC on the 2.4 and SOHC on the 2.0. All engines mate to 5-speed automatic transmissions, with ratios customized for front or all-wheel drive. We lament the non-availability of the previous six-speed manual, with which the CR-V was easily capable of delivering double-digit km/liter figures. The new engines can run on regular gasoline. As on the all-new Civic launched this year, the CR-V features an Econ button that alters throttle response, air conditioning, and other functions to help boost fuel economy.

CR-V rides on MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension, and on 17-inch alloy wheels. ABS and EBD brakes are standard, and the 2.4-liter model includes a hill-assist feature that helps prevent the vehicle from rolling forward or backward when driving on an incline.

The CR-V 2.0-liter LX retails for P1.425 million while the all-wheel drive 2.4-liter EX is priced at P1.655 million. The white pearl paint version will be P20,000 dearer still.

The crossover market is sizzling hot, with more contenders than ever in different shapes and sizes. The new CR-V is a welcome addition.

Paragon Honda - (5) Star Review on Yelp

  • I have been a paragon Honda customer since February 2009 and i can honestly say every time I am there its such a great experience. My lease was recently up and I knew i just had to go back and get another model. Jason Graciano gave me his word on a deal with the new car, and sure enough that's exactly what i received when i signed and left in my new civic coupe 2012. The transaction of returning my old lease and getting the new one was so fast and and such a pleasure because of my wonderful dealer Jose Arias. Great people skills, and takes time to answer any questions you may have. Definitely will be recommending Jose as my parents dealer in august when they get their new lease. Overall great second time experience at Paragon Honda!!!!! -Eleni
