My Review of Paragon Honda:
I was satisfied with the purchase of my first car, but after purchasing my second car at Paragon, I am beyond satisfied! Both Eddie and Mike were EXTREMELY helpful, resourceful, and honest through out the whole process. They had answers to all of my questions and were assuring. I went in to discuss refinancing options, and left with a better model and at the best price for me. I would definitely recommend Paragon to anyone looking to purchase!

My Review of Paragon Honda:
My wife and I were just shopping around at other dealerships in queens, getting pricing done and just looking around to see what we liked. We entered into the Paragon Honda dealership not expecting anything. To our surprise we were greeted respectfully by Jose Louis Arias. He was genuinely friendly and gave us the time and space to search around. Mr. Arias was very helpful and knowledgeable about cars in general. His passive approach was very much appreciated. My wife and I looked at a 2010 Honda CRV LX model. Once we asked about the pricing of the vehicle we were presented with an offer we simply couldn't refuse. The process was quick, thorough and had a no pressure atmosphere. We recommend Jose to anyone interested in a good quality car with great rates. (Hey I just recommended my father too!!)

I had a great experience buying my car from this dealership. Ariel Munoz was an amazing salesman and his excellent customer service and professionalism was the key factor to me buying a Honda. Although I did not buy my car from this dealership due issues outside Ariel's control, I would recommend this salesman to everyone when deciding to buy a Honda. He was well informed and provided me with extensive knowledge of the vehicles offered and specifically of the vehicle I had interest in.

My experience was contrary to all these reviews. As many cars that are for sale, there are an abundance of dealerships. Sales prices are are competitive everywhere, so it all comes down to the quality of service for me. My dealer, Ariel Munoz of Paragon Honda, provided superb service from my initial walk-in to closing the deal. Everything was intelligently explained and all my questions/concerns were respectfully addressed.

When you shop for cars, you shop for the right salesman because these are the people that will further assist you for the life of your car. Without a doubt, Ariel Munoz is THE guy to see for your auto needs.

Hope this helps!

I recently went in to check out a honda civic purchase, as I walked in with my wife I was greeted by Mr. Ariel Munoz.

This young man was very helpful, and his customer service was amazing, even after I stated that I would not be making a purchase on that day.

I read pretty bad reviews of this place, but he exceeded my expectations. The deal he gave us was amazing, but unfortunately I am not ready to take on the expense, but when I finally decide to buy my wife the civic, I will more then likely only deal with this gentleman.

My lease on my 2006 Acura TXS was coming due and I needed to return the vehicle as well as lease a new car. My main concern was not to spend all day processing my request. I was very pleased that attention was paid to me and they made sure to finish my request as promptly as possible. I was happy the 2010 Honda Accord that a requested was available and for a good price. They coordinated the day with me in order to make my purchase as painless as possible. This is my third go around with Paragon Honda, dating back to 2004 and because of this pleasant experience I don't see why there won't be a forth. Thank you. Manuel Arocho. Auto Remarketing Names CPO Dealer of the Year

By Joe Overby, Staff Writer
September 15, 2010

NEW YORK — If he had to choose between taking a vacation or working at the dealership, Brian Benstock said he would pick the latter.

The minority owner of Paragon Honda in Queens and the vice president and general manager of Paragon Acura has mirrored his work ethic after that of the late Paul Singer, the founder of what is now Paragon Auto Group.

"To say he was a workaholic would be an understatement," Benstock shared with Auto Remarketing in a recent interview.

So after more than two decades of working alongside Singer and watching his work ethic firsthand, Benstock said, "It's in my DNA."

That drive and a slew of innovative approaches to selling certified pre-owned have helped Paragon Honda and Paragon Acura excel in the CPO segment, and they have been selected to receive the Auto Remarketing's inaugural CPO Dealer of the Year Award presented by vAuto.

Paragon Honda has been Honda's top dealer for CPO sales volume each year since 2007, while Paragon Acura has been Acura's top CPO seller each year since 2008, said Dan Crowe, national remarketing manager for the automaker.

And both stores are on the way to achieving that distinction for their respective brands once again this year, Crowe noted.

Paragon Auto Group — which also includes White Plains Honda in White Plains, N.Y. — is headed by majority owner Edith Singer, wife of the late Singer.

"She's a part of everything," Benstock shared. "It's great to have someone intelligent to bounce these ideas off of and have her input before we send them off to market."

Benstock has been working with the Singers for more than 28 years, as he began his career at the store in May 1982. He grew up on Long Island and right after college, began working at a Lincoln-Mercury store, planning to stay there "until something better came along."

Eventually, he applied and got a position at what was then P.S. Honda and has been with the company ever since.

With decades of experience in the field, Benstock finds the auto business to be "fascinating because it's always changing, but it never changes."

He emphasized that while a slew of enhanced technology has become available, "The basics of the business never change."

Benstock noted: "I think it's made us hybrid dealers, per se. We're old school, but we embrace technology."

In the old-school approach, "It's getting away from the bad stuff" of the old days, while still maintaining those core foundations of selling vehicles.

The dealers who can blend the best of new innovations and the old-school foundation of selling cars are the ones who will win, Benstock emphasized.

The Paragon stores have certainly been winning in the CPO market these days, and others have taken notice.

For one, Crowe said he believes the store has a keen awareness of the "value" it gains from the CPO segment.

"It's allowed them to expand their ownership base significantly," Crowe share, also crediting Benstock for "always thinking outside the box" for ways to drive dealership traffic.

"Last year, Paragon's aggressive marketing helped them grow from number 17 to the number one Honda and Acura retailer with the most new and certified pre-owned sales of any retailer in the country," said Sean Wolfington, owner of Tier 10 Marketing.com, Paragon's marketing company.

This type of insight from Benstock will be available for dealers attending the 2010 CPO Forum.

Benstock is being honored at the event, and is offering the "CPO Dealer of the Year: Building the Best Certified Pre-Owned Stores in the USA" presentation and is participating in the "Building the Best Certified Pre-Owned Stores in the Country, Luxury Brands" workshop, along with Frank Lynch, of Vista BMW.

"We're proud to honor Edith Singer, Brian Benstock and the entire family at Paragon Honda and Paragon Acura with our inaugural CPO Dealer of the Year Award," said Bill Zadeits, associate publisher of Auto Remarketing and conference co-chair. "And we are thrilled that attendees to the 2010 CPO Forum will be able to gain invaluable insight and perspective into the market."

Zadeits added: "Paragon's innovation in the certified space over the last year has been industry-leading, and their stores' success in CPO sales is reflective of that."

Dale Pollak, chairman and founder of vAuto, said: "Brian Benstock is exceptionally deserving of being recognized as the Certified Pre-Owned Dealer of the Year. With intelligence and boldness, Brian thrives in an urban environment where few could survive. As an early adopter of the vAuto Velocity Method of Management, we are honored to sponsor this award. We couldn't be more proud of Brian's accomplishments and we are excited to continue to work together."

Dealer Magazine Interview with Brian Benstock

Interview With Brian Benstock From Paragon Honda And Acura
09/09/2010

Paragon Honda and Acura in New York is a great family success story, says Vice President and Partner Brian Benstock. Paul Singer and his wife Edith acquired the Honda franchise back in 1970. At the time, Paul was an Oldsmobile dealer but fell in love with one of those Honda motorcycles. So he went out and got a franchise for the car. Singer set a portion of the showroom aside for a couple of Honda vehicles and people were laughing, but where’s Oldsmobile now? Benstock asks.

Paul was a well-respected dealer when he died in May 2006. The store has continued to be one of the country’s top dealerships under the leadership of Edith, her daughter and Brian. This year, Paragon is the top selling Honda dealership in new and certified sales combined and is one of Honda’s top CSI dealers.

Brian shares with Dealer magazine how Paragon has been able to survive the recent downturn while continuing to grow.

CNN Interview with Brian Benstock

By Peter Valdes-Dapena, senior writer
September 10, 2010: 12:49 PM ET

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — The cutthroat world of car pricing is getting simpler and gentler for car buyers but more ruthless for car dealerships.

That’s because in the power struggle between dealers and shoppers, the buyer has prevailed, thanks to the Internet. Getting a straight answer on price from dealers used to be like pulling teeth. Now, as car dealers hunt for dwindling buyers they’re freely quoting prices on web sites.

With a bit of research, savvy car buyers can pit dealers against one another, from the comfort of their own homes.
Here’s how it’s done: First of all, know exactly what you want: make, model, options, even the color. And make sure the price the dealer is quoting you is for the precise car you want. If it isn’t, make sure you know exactly what’s different.
Don’t go to the dealership. Instead pick up the telephone, write an email and use a car buying Web site.
Any of the Web sites that partner with Zag.com make great places to start. Among them are Consumerreports.org, Overstock.com, USAA.com, AmericanExpress.com, Aol.com and others. (The Zag.com Web site has links to them all.)
At these sites, you’ll see actual prices from several competing dealers in your area before you have to provide any of your contact information. That means you can choose to start a dialog only with those dealers that offer competitive prices and that have good customer service ratings.

With on-line pricing, each dealer knows a better offer may be only a mouse click away, so they all get to the bottom line price faster saving you time, stress and hopefully money.
Even when you call or email, some dealers may still try to get you to come into the dealership before they’ll discuss price. Ignore them and move along, advised Phil Reed, consumer advice editor for the automotive Web site Edmunds.com.
“If you find yourself being turned over to a traditional salesperson, or there’s resistance to giving you a price over the phone, you may be at the wrong place,” he said.

Scott Painter, who runs Zag.com, thinks we may finally be seeing the end of car sales as we know it. “I think the dealer today that does not embrace up-front pricing will be out of business,” he said.
Eliminate the car salesman: The car salesman as we know him is on the endangered species list.
In the future, Painter said, cars will be sold in much the same way that major appliances, such TV’s and refrigerators, are sold. Pricing will be decided on a store by store basis and salespeople will be valued for customer service rather than tough negotiating.

To a dealership, an aggressive salesperson who makes you uncomfortable has become more of a liability, and one who listens and makes you feel understood more of asset. Let’s face it, that Chevrolet Equinox or Toyota Avalon you can get from one dealer is the same as you’d get at another. While that’s always been true, it’s now much easier to shop around.
Auto sales consultant George Dans, who bills himself as “the world’s greatest closer,” said he sees the changes already. With pricing power in the customer’s hands, the way for car salesmen and dealerships to fight back is by being nicer and more attentive than the other guy.

“You’ve got to come up with five to 10 good reasons they should buy from your dealership,” he said “otherwise they’re just going to buy from the guy with the lowest price.”
Dealers who don’t play fair — for instance, not honoring prices they quote on-line — will quickly realize the Internet’s other equalizing effect, said Brian Benstock, who runs Paragon Honda and Acura in New York City. Word of bad customer service gets around.

“The same customers that are out there using the Internet to find you will use the Internet to destroy you.”
Car dealerships see the light: As the Internet gives car shoppers more power, the nation’s biggest auto dealers aren’t fighting the change. In fact, they see an opportunity.

All the emphasis on competitive on-line pricing means lower prices for customers and slimmer profit margins on new car sales, but those profits have been paper-thin for a long time, anyway. The benefit to the dealer in all this it speeds up the sales process, said Paragon’s Benstock.

“If you want to make a lot, make a little and you can make a little a lot of times,” he said.

Besides minimizing the time and hassle needed to earn that small profit, easing the new car sales process means creating more customers. Those customer relationships allow dealers to cultivate profits in other areas like parts, service and used cars.
Autonation (AN, Fortune 500), the country’s biggest dealership chain, is experimenting with up-front Internet pricing in several states.

Sonic Automotive (SAH, Fortune 500), another of the nation’s biggest auto dealers, is refocusing its 120 dealerships’ to emphasize phones and the Internet as the initial point of contact for most customers.
“Our vision is to have 100% of our dealerships modeled as e-sales offices,” said Rachel Richards, vice president of retail strategy for Sonic.

Asbury Automotive (ABG), another top dealership has also been experimenting with up-front pricing at its Nalley Toyota dealership in Roswell, Ga., said Chief Operating Officer Michael Kearney.

For now, he said, most customers still negotiate in person, but their numbers are declining.

“If you want to place me out there 10 years from now, I’d be surprised if the vast majority of pricing isn’t settled on-line,” he said.

After a bad experience at another dealership, we came in here expecting to have another one.

Our salesperson Airon proved us wrong. He gave us a low-pressure test drive, answered all our questions (and involved other people if he didn't have the answer), even giving us his computer to look up fees that we were contesting.

He just made it happen -- efficiently ordering a car from across town to be brought over while we waited. We felt the whole staff was (positively) involved in our purchase. Low-pressure, no heavy attempts to upsell us with other options. We wanted the base in the color we chose and got it in a few hours.

When leasing a Honda accord from Alex I felt he went far beyond the call of duty. I never felt pressured to buy but at the same time I felt he was there to help me in my important decision. I would certainly reccommend future customers to visit alex at paragon Honda. Elsie Earez suprised me with her caring when she introduced my lease to me. I am sure just explaining something can be done by anyone, however I soon realized that she was not gonna let me go unless I completeley understood my new purchase. Thank you both for your devoted service.

My Review of Paragon Honda:
I bought my first car this weekend at Paragon Honda and it was truly a memorable experience. When you first walk into the dealership, you are greeted by a receptionist and offered free cookies. After checking out the Honda Accord, we sat down with Alex, and he suggested that I go along with the incentive priced car, which worked out great since this is the year-end closeout. Alex is a very kind salesman who listens to concerns and provides clarification on things that one may not understand. My family appreciated the free coffee as well. Next, I met with Joy, who despite being severly delayed from his vacation, was able to provide a lengthy, informative presentation on what it's like to join the Honda family. Last but not least, there's Elsie, who is an expert on the ins and outs of the car (thanks for helping me set up my Bluetooth!).

All in all, the biggest thrill is ringing the bell once you officially become the owner of the car. And another bonus, you are eligible to receive a free bicycle with the purchase of a new car. Thank you Paragon Honda!

Dealer cashes in, again, on own clunkers spiffs

Diana T. Kurylko
Automotive News -- August 23, 2010 - 12:01 am ET

Sales at Brian Benstock's Honda and Acura dealerships are soaring because of the cash-for-clunkers program, in which customers get thousands of dollars for trading in vehicles for more fuel-efficient models.

Wait, wasn't that last year?

Benstock liked the federal government's 2009 clunker program so much that he's running his own program this year at Paragon Honda and Paragon Acura in the Woodside neighborhood in the New York borough of Queens.

Instead of destroying the cars traded in, which the federal clunker program required, he's getting lots of used cars -- enough, he says, to make him the country's top Honda and Acura certified used-car dealer. Honda confirmed those rankings.

Benstock is offering customers 20 percent, or $3,800, whichever is less, over the Kelley Blue Book value of their trade-in. Any new or used vehicle on the lot is eligible as long as the purchased vehicle has better fuel economy than the trade-in.

Benstock says he's paying the bonuses even on relatively new trade-ins -- vehicles whose fuel economy was too good to qualify them for last year's cash-for-clunkers program.

The clunkers program, which began last month and runs through August, accounted for about 30 percent of sales at both stores in July and helped boost new- and used-vehicle sales 24 to 36 percent at both stores in the first seven months of 2010. Meanwhile, the Honda brand's U.S. sales rose 8 percent through July, while Acura sales rose 24 percent.

Benstock says the new clunkers campaign has helped make Paragon Honda the country's eighth-biggest Honda new-car dealership in unit sales through July, up from No. 17 in the year-earlier period. He says Paragon Acura was the fifth-biggest Acura dealership through July, up from No. 12 a year earlier.

Benstock says he never planned to sell cars. After graduating from college in 1982, he decided to work as a car salesman for the summer “until something better came along,” he says.

“There were these guys with white shoes and plaid pants selling cars. As a 22-year-old kid, I didn't want to be one of those guys but figured if they're not good and making enough to support a family, what can I do if I am good?”

After three months at Bright Bay Mercury-Lincoln in Bay Shore, N.Y., Benstock says, he was hooked.

“I didn't know at the time we were in a recession or that you couldn't sell cars when interest rates were 18 to 19 percent,” he says. “But I had an annual income of $30,000 and, living at home, I was rich as far as I was concerned.”

Benstock left after several months to go to Paul Singer Honda as a salesman. He became sales manager there in 1986. Singer ultimately sold that store and took Benstock with him to Paragon Honda in 1992.

By 1997, Benstock was a partner. He now owns both Paragon stores, with Paul Singer's widow.

Benstock says he's profitable because of high volume. “My business philosophy is if you want to make a lot, make a little,” he says. “You can make a little many times.”

He's also convinced that buyers want to be in and out of a dealership with little fuss and without lengthy negotiations.

“Most of our arrangements are done over the Internet before the customer comes in,” Benstock says. “We even have the trade-in and finance information, and that gives us an edge over the competition.”

Customers said they wanted better service hours, so Benstock decided to mirror competitors Pep Boys and Jiffy Lube, staying open seven days a week. Service hours on weekends are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday have become Paragon's most profitable service days. Says Benstock: “We see license plate frames from all over the metro area -- the dealerships where they purchased the cars that are not open.”

Benstock's promotions, whether longer service hours or cash-for-clunkers programs, are necessary, he says.

He has to come up with creative incentive programs to thrive because of the high cost of advertising in the New York metropolitan area, Benstock says.

This spring, he ran a “Triple Zero” campaign with no money down, no security deposit and no first month's payment.

Benstock knew that this year's clunkers program would work because he ran a similar promotion last year during the government's program to snag those who didn't qualify for the federal program. It was such a success that when the government program ended last August, Benstock continued his through December.

Anticipating a slump in summer sales because of the lingering recession and last year's high sales, he decided to revive his promotion last month.

Benstock says the program has a secondary benefit: He gets more used cars, especially newer models that can be sold as certified used vehicles. He's paying over book value for used vehicles -- but so is everyone in the industry, he says.

Says Benstock: “We wanted this program because we have to buy 10 Hondas seven days a week because of how many certified cars we are selling.”

The delivery of the car went extremly smoothly. The assistance of Ms.Tavarez made the stack of papers I had to sign understandable and not a chore. The instructions in the car concerning the dashboard, radio and other accessories saved me at least a half hour of fumbling on my own.
I hope to see them both when I go in for my next car.

My Review of Paragon Honda:
Very easy, fast ,friendly purchase, Certified Vehicles had very reasonable prices great selection to choose from, Had a bit of a communication issues getting all documentation and plates as out of state purchase. Mohammad needs to remember to call back when he says he will, Mitchell could be sweet or short on the phone, After the actual sale was difficult to get someone to help me trace my out of state plates location..took 2 weeks and I finally reapplied for new ones and brought them in hand to dealer to pick up car . Nyesha was great, helpful and very understanding . When I was finally able to pick up vehicle it was exactly as promised by mohammad and all ready for me ( good job there ). David delivered the car and explained all options....very professional, with excellent customer service . I was given a voucher for gas and drove home. After a week at home I recieved a check from Paragon in the mail reimbursing me for the prepaid registration fees. What a pleasant suprise and I did not even ask for it! Thank you Paragon . All in all, I got the car I wanted at the price I wanted to pay delivered as promised. So I would say a Good experience on the whole. Thanks Paragon.......:)

I worked with Ram, my Sales Consultant and Rachel.

My Review of Paragon Honda:
The Honda Sales Consultant, Ram, who patiently assisted me in finding the right vehicle for me impressed me. When the exact vehicle of my choice was not available in the exact color combination I wanted, I was kindly asked if I would consider a different vehicle. It turns out that the vehicle that I chose in the end really is the right vehicle for me. I felt that the Sales Consultant was professional, accommodating, and efficient. The Sales Consultant, Ram, was also punctual and reliable. The Sales Consultant also had a sense of humor, which cheered me up.

During other times when I had to wait, other employees who were not busy assisting customers at certain down times were friendly and worked to build a rapport with me, which I thought was great! I received the vehicle of my choice sooner than I expected it, and it was squeaky clean - both inside and outside.

Also, Rachel was friendly and personable. In a competent and confident manner, Rachel assisted me in getting familiar with the features of the car once the vehicle was ready for me to drive. She was knowledgeable and patient.

Based on this very positive experience, I would highly recommend this dealership to others. The research I did online prior to visiting this dealership paid off! I have yet to see if the vehicle I chose will in fact live up to the reputation that Honda has built so far.

This was one of the most hasslefree, thorough, and pleasant visits to a mechanic that I've ever had. Wilson was excellent and got my vehicle in quickly and the work was impeccable. They really strive to make sure that your car is in tip/top shape when it leaves their facility and yet they were never pushy or tried to get me to purchase unnecessary services. The quality of work has proved solid and reliable too. Wilson was super polite and responsive to my concerns. It was a pleasure and I'll definately be back

My Review of Paragon Honda:
I went to numerous Honda dealerships and all I was hearing was I can try, I don’t think we can do that deal... BUT Paragon Honda made it happen!!! They put me in a Honda Pilot zero down at the price I wanted. The staff was excellent, the services was amazing. I was able to close a deal even with my 5 year son there because the product specialist was watching him, which was perfect even thou it is not her job she really made it easy for us. They have a stated of the art office and they do not past down the cost to the customer. Trust me I have been with Honda for 9 years and this is the best experience I ever had in a dealership. The other dealerships are way over rated and cannot make the deal not even half of the deal Paragon Honda made with us. They say what the mean and mean what they say. I am a great negotiator as that is what I do for a living and they were right on the button with the numbers. People trust me, you cannot go wrong with Paragon Honda, and they are the BEST!!!!!

After not getting the price that we were looking for at a Honda dealer in NJ, we contacted Paragon and was told that it was very likely that we could do a deal. Given that Paragon came highly recommended by our nephew who bought an Insight from them, we decided that it was worth the trip and the cost of the tolls to visit.

We met with Victoria who is a real gem and she worked with us to get the deal that we were looking for. She also made sure that our time was not wasted when we went to pick up the car and that was much appreciated. Victoria is very knowledgeable and personable which is a great combination.

We actually found all of the folks at Paragon to be outgoing and friendly and while that did not sell us on the car, it certainly made it pleasant to be there. We will be recommending Paragon and Victoria to our friends and relatives.

Brian Benstock
Paragon Honda

Paragon Honda leap-frogged from #17 in U.S. market share for Honda to the #1 Honda New and Used dealer in the world in only 6 months. “We had a record year for volume and profitability during a record low year for the car business,” said Brian Benstock from Paragon Honda in Queens, New York. We met with Brian to find out in his own words what led to their success. Some of the companies Brian works with are on our Top 10 list this year (Tier 10, Level 5, Team Velocity, CallRevu, Car-mercial and vAuto).

Open to the Possibilities
Among the car dealerships along Northern Boulevard in Woodside, New York, Paragon Acura stands as a shining exception. Located in a transitional urban neighborhood in Queens, the dealership is anoasis of sorts, welcoming clients with a gleaming exterior surrounded by plants and flowers. For Brian Benstock, vice president and general manager at Paragon Acura, the inviting exterior is a point of pride for the dealership as much as it is a business decision. “We don’t want to have any barriers to doing business,” Benstock says. “Even a small fence is a barrier. We want openness.” According to Kevin Krafcik, Paragon Acura’s American Honda Finance Corporation (AHFC)dealer relations manager (DRM), openness is the cornerstone of the dealership’s success. “Brian and his team are cognizant of the fact that the way to best serve their client base—at least at first—is through pre-owned vehicles bolstered by Acura Care® Vehicle Service Contracts (VSCs),” Krafcik says. This kind of strategic, customized client service results in a strong bottom line, even when the economic climate continues to be challenging.

I've been in the market for a crossover for a few weeks. I've been to 4 showrooms in the Queens and Brooklyn area before coming to Paragon Honda.

After shopping around, and striking a few potential deals in the area, I found out about Paragon via Edmunds.com.

Long story short, John C. at Paragon was able to meet my price and do business with me at well bellow the asking price of other dealerships. Best of all, it was with no haggling, and no run-arounds. I knew what I wanted, he knew what paragon wanted, and we struck a great deal within 10 minutes.

Past that, my experience did not end there. I was introduced to my new car by a very knowledgeable and friendly Elsie Tavarez. I knew pretty much everything I needed to know about my car within 5 minutes thanks to her.

Thank you John, Elsie, and Paragon for making my car buying experience a good one.

My Review of Paragon Honda:
Coming from another Honda dealership where I was left feeling confused and unsure of my purchase and stepping into Paragon was a blessing. From the moment I stepped onto the lot and was approached by Ariel I immediately felt at ease and comforted. I was looking into financing a certified used Accord thinking it would be the best option for me but never considering that I could actually afford a new car until Ariel quickly asked for my budget and with in a split second did what the other dealership couldn't do. He thoroughly explained my pros and cons as to why it would be smarter for me to lease a brand new car than to finance a used one. He ran a rough draft of numbers with me so that I could prepare every thing I needed so that I could discuss it with my co-signer. And from that moment I new that this car would be mine. Ariel stuck with me through every step of the way from pre-purchase, purchase, and post-purchase. He was very attentive, sharp, and pleasing to work with. Ariel was such a pleasure to work with that I needed some thing to be done with my insurance company and he came in on his day off just to fax some thing over for me. Now if that isn't great customer service I do not know what is. I hope that a lot of people get to enjoy the service that I did. I am looking forward to going back in three years when my lease is up so that I can make the trade for a new one...and only if Ariel is my sales representative.

My Review of Paragon Honda:
Before my divorce I always left the purchase of a car to my husband as I had very little interest in cars. Thus I approached the experience of car shopping with some trepdation. I went to several dealers both on Long Island and then New York City. Because I keep and drive my car in Suffolk county I tried dealers near my home. There was a very poor selection of pre-owned vehicles and I found an attitude that was less then welcoming.
Then I went to Paragon and it was a wonderful experience!!!! When I found a dent on the passenger side of the car as we were pulling out of the dealership and I relayed it to the manager there was no question that they would fix it. When I got the car home and discovered one of the headlights was not working I returned the car to be fixed. The manager, Mike Adovic, had one of his salespeople drive us to Manhattan to save the expense of a car service.
Everything is done with a smile. The customer service is remarkable. I have already recommended Paragon to a close friend who is replacing her BMW. I told her the prices at Paragon may be reasonable (as compared to BMW) but the service is high, high end!!!

My Review of Paragon Honda:
We were seeking a pre-owned Honda Fit, or CRV. In searching we did not find the car as they did not have a FIT in the year we sought and we ended up not choosing a CR-V and instead sought a new Element. The sale person, Lisa Kuchta, took an immense amount of time to show us potential cars and more took us on several test drives in an array of cars. We switched to a new Element and Paragon did not have the model we wanted. It was the end of year sales and there were few out there, but in terms of overall quality of the sales persons ambition and willingness to help us find the pre-owned car this was simply the best of many dealers we visited. Other dealers asked us to agree to the price prior to a test ride or tried to add transportation costs (to a pre-owned car) or simply had high prices. Paragon had a wide range of Honda CR-V's, but few Fit's (no one had many 09 Fits if at all). At Paragon we returned several times to test drive older Fits, recent CR-V's and an older Element. In the end we found the new car better for our needs but my wife and I did find that the pre-owned sales at Paragon were above the many other dealers we went to from Long Island, New Jersey, and Ct. (the search for a used Fit or Element took us to many). We have met good sales people at other dealers but no one took as much energy or showed such willingness to help find a car if they did not have it or to indulge us in comparing cars to find the right one. We recently closed on a house that needs work and we were trying to find the right car to help us carry things but still be a good urban car in metro NYC. I'd recommend Paragon for pre-owned cars even though we did not buy: they did help us sort out a complex plan and search and were always energetic and focused.

Honda Civic GX and FCX Clarity Retain California HOV Lane Access Until 2015

Honda Civic GX and FCX Clarity Retain California HOV Lane Access Until 2015
July 12 2010

California drivers of the compressed natural gas (CNG) - powered Civic GX and zero-emissions FCX Clarity fuel cell electric vehicle will continue to have access to the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) highway lane until January 2015. The recently passed California Assembly Bill 1500 extends HOV lane access to Inherently Low Emission Vehicles (ILEV), which includes cars that are certified zero emission and CNG vehicles. Before the extension was passed, existing ILEV HOV access stickers were set to expire January 1, 2011. Under the new law an unlimited number of HOV lane access stickers will be issued to eligible ILEV vehicles. The law takes effect January 1, 2011.

Honda is the only OEM currently selling a dedicated CNG-powered vehicle designed and manufactured for retail sale in the United States. The 2010 Civic GX achieves an EPA-estimated city/highway fuel economy of 24/36* miles per gasoline-gallon equivalent and is the only vehicle certified by the EPA to meet both Federal Tier 2-Bin 2 and Inherently Low Emission Vehicle (ILEV) zero evaporative emission certification standards**. The Civic GX is available at 43 dealers in California and is priced at $25,340***.

Civic GX owners can refuel at numerous public stations around California as well as at home with a Phill natural gas home refueling appliance. Sold by BRC FuelMaker, Phill connects to a home's existing natural gas line and allows for convenient overnight fueling of the Civic GX.

The zero emissions, hydrogen powered FCX Clarity fuel cell electric vehicle is available for lease-only in Southern California. The sleek and modern sedan is propelled by an electric motor that runs on electricity generated in an on-board hydrogen fuel cell. The FCX Clarity's only emission is water, and its fuel efficiency is three times that of a modern gasoline-powered automobile and two times that of a gasoline-powered hybrid vehicle.

My Review of Paragon Honda:
As I walked in the dealer I knew who to look for. This being the 4th car we leased from Paragon Honda we automatically looked for our Sales Manager Jason Graciano. He is experienced, knowledgeable and friendly. His Sales tactics are what I look for in a sales person; someone who will not push me to buy but will show me and allow me to experience the product so that I can make my own decision.

It was a busy Monday and the process took longer than expected, but Jason and his team, Ariel Munoz and Elsie Tavarez, made the process and my time spent at the dealership a pleasant one. I had a few concerns with the deal I received but overall I am happy with my purchase.

Buying a car can be overwhelming, but you can be sure that Jason and his team will be patient and will do their best to make sure you are satisfied with your purchase.

I walked out with my 2010 accord, which is what I wanted.

My Review of Paragon Honda:
We got a used car which got a little front side dent that occurred most likely from the time we bought the car and the time we picked it up the next day after they serviced and certified it. There was also a roof dent that we did not noticed until we got home. After three trips (we live 4 to 5 hours roundtrip drive from the dealer depending on traffic) both problem were resolved. Overall it was frustrating because of the long distance and the time it took to get to the dealer as well as the waiting time to get things resolved. The manager, Joe, did his best to expedite things but some things, such as body work, cannot be expedited if you want them to be done properly. He managed to have the work done the same day to save us an extra trip. The work was done properly and we are happy with the result. Joe noticed our frustration and was kind enough to give us some gas money to cover part of our expenses and brand new front and back floor mats.

We went through all these hassle because we chose a car that was just brought to their lot and was not yet certified. We had to return the next day for it and then return for the body work.

I would recommend buying a car that was already certified so that you can inspect it thoroughly on the lot before you drive it off the same day.

i walked into Paragon Honda not really expecting much, still in research phase and have not determine which vehicle to buy. especially within a rather limited budget. i was very please with my sale rep Lisa and her team, they were very helpful in finding a car for my needs and answered all the questions. however, i cannot say anything good about their loan officer Alan, i am actually glad to have a loan in place from another bank. bottom line is that their sales reps are very helpful and professional, and the loan officer should stop watching "Goodfellas"

My Review of Paragon Honda:
Mike told me I wouldn't walk out of his showroom without a smile on my face and car keys in my hand, and he kept his word! Everyone was extremely accommodating and friendly, and Eddy had endless patience showing me the cars and getting my paperwork ready. I will definitely recommend this dealership to my friends!

Employee(s) Dealt With: David Pena

My Review of Paragon Honda:
Mr. Pena was very helpful and courteous. His knowledge of the vehicle was extensive and his approach to showing the operations of the vehicle was better than perfect! Being able to meet all our needs and answere all of our issues with extreme speed was incredible. Mr. Pena made receiving a vehicle that you know nothing about easy and my wife felt confident about driving away for the first time. He made sure that even strapping in my 5 month old sons car seat was secure and that we were comfortable with the process. Way beond what honda offers in there commercials!

Employee(s) Dealt With: Alberto Escobar and Elsie Tavarez

My Review of Paragon Honda:
This is my third purchased from Paragon, and I have never had a bad experience. The sales staff does not pressure you into making a deal immediately and give you plenty of time puruse the inventory on display until you are ready to speak with a sales representative.

I can't speak more highly of the personalized service I received from my sales rep. Alberto Escobar who informed that I was his very first customer. I think he will have a successful career with Paragon.

I always recommend Paragon Honda to anyone who is looking for a new car.

Employee(s) Dealt With: Rosa Diaz

My Review of Paragon Honda:
What a wonderful dealer and experience! Not only was Ms. Diaz extremely professional but even her co-workers who got involved with my lease were so nice and welcoming of me & my parents. She definitely exceeded my expectations of what I thought would end up being a stressful process. She also spent many hours with different insurance companies on the phone to help get my father a better rate on his insurance (something she did not have to do at all). From the moment I met her at the receptionist desk to the moment I left with my new Honda Civic the following day, Rosa Diaz was literally a breath of fresh air. I went back to bring her flowers and cookies for everyone else because she really made me feel wonderful about my purchase. If you're looking for a woman who knows how to "get s*** done" and who knows how to really listen to what you want as the customer- then Rosa Diaz and Paragon Honda is the place to go! Thank you so much girl!

Employee(s) Dealt With: Joel Abreu

My Review of Paragon Honda:
I did all the research online, and then finally decided to bite the bullet and physically go to the dealership - something I was not really looking forward to.
I was met immediately by Joel at the door, with a great courteous attitude and a willingness to please. He took us to the car we were interested in and basically stepped back, giving us (my wife and 2/1/2 year old daughter) room to look at and experience the car on our own. We then took the car for a test drive and before you knew it we were crunching numbers - all the while with a straight forward, no pressure attitude. I told him the numbers I wanted to make it happen and he came back with an offer I couldn't refuse.
Onto the next step, which I was dreading - the financing department - this is usually when the 'deal' goes south.
I couldn't be more wrong if I had tried! The financing gentleman worked very hard to make the deal happen with the numbers I had already worked out with Joel. A couple of small hurdles were jumped and ironed out on the spot.
The last step was with Rachel, who walked me through all the great technical features of the car.
We couldn't be happier with our first brand new car buying experience. We will be recommending Paragon Honda to all of our friends and family.

Employee(s) Dealt With: Juan Carrion

My Review of Paragon Honda:
After a lot of research online, my boyfriend and I found a certified pre-owned car that we could (almost) afford at Paragon. We went and were greeted (at the sidewalk) by an brand new employee named Nick who, for some reason, did not have enough training to be assisting customers and acted like a "used car salesman". He was loud and brash and was a nightmare to deal with. Spent two hours with him before actually going through the negotiation process with an experienced salesperson, Juan Carrion. Juan was friendly and extremely helpful. He explained everything calmly and was warm and gracious throughout the whole experience. He spent a lot of time with me getting me the rate I wanted and found a broker that would insure me at the price I was capable of paying. After hours of helping me, I still was worried about financing. Juan was still very patient, didn't rush or pressure me. I wound up came back a second day before purchasing. If you go, ask to see Juan, a lovely person who does his job really well.

Another salesperson David, was also very nice, showed us the car features once we purchased.
